TRACK II NETWORK OF ASEAN DEFENCE AND SECURITY INSTITUTIONS (NADI) MEETING ON “EVOLVING AND EMERGING NON-TRADITIONAL SECURITY CHALLENGES IN THE ERA OF DISRUPTIVE WORLD”



KRABI, Monday, 15 July 2024 – The Track II Network of ASEAN Defence and Security Institutions (NADI) Meeting themed “Evolving and Emerging Non-Traditional Security Challenges in the Era of Disruptive World" was organised by the Strategic Studies Center (SSC), National Defence Studies Institute (NDSI), Thailand at the Aonang Villa Resort, Krabi, Thailand beginning today.


 


The two-day meeting was chaired by Major General Nirut Duangpanya, Director of SSC and attended by all members of NADI. Brunei Darussalam was represented by Noorhazwani Ariffin, Acting Assistant Director of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS). A special welcoming remark was also delivered by Air Marshal Suriyapun Winwun, Advisor, NDSI.



 

During the meeting, NADI members discussed the evolving and emerging non-traditional security challenges facing ASEAN, and way forward for strengthening ASEAN cooperation in response to such threats. SHHBIDSS presented a paper in Session 2, focusing on Non-Traditional Security issues and challenges from a national lens.

 

Inaugurated in 2007, NADI is a Track II platform that brings in policy analysts, researchers, academics and defence officials specialising in defence and security together to discuss issues related to defence and security cooperation and to develop recommendations to support the ADMM.



 

 

MESYUARAT TREK II RANGKAIAN INSTITUSI PERTAHANAN DAN KESELAMATAN ASEAN (NADI) MENGENAI CABARAN KESELAMATAN BUKAN TRADISIONAL YANG KIAN BERKEMBANG DI ERA YANG BERGOLAK

 

KRABI, Isnin, 15 Julai 2024 – Mesyuarat Trek II Rangkaian Institusi Pertahanan dan Keselamatan ASEAN (NADI) yang dikelolakan oleh Strategic Studies Center (SSC), National Defence Studies Institute (NDSI), Thailand diadakan di Resort Aonang Villa, Krabi, Thailand bermula hari ini.

 

Mesyuarat ini dipengerusikan oleh Mejar Jeneral Nirut Duangpanya, Pengarah SSC dan telah dihadiri oleh kesemua ahli NADI. Hadir mewakili Negara Brunei Darussalam ialah Noorhazwani Ariffin, Pemangku Penolong Pengarah Institut Pengajian Pertahanan dan Strategik Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (IPPSSHHB). Ucapan alu-aluan juga telah disampaikan oleh Air Marshal Suriyapun Winwun, Advisor, NDSI.​

Semasa mesyuarat berkenaan, ahli NADI membincangkan mengenai cabaran keselamatan bukan tradisional yang (kian) berkembang dan berbangkit yang dihadapi oleh ASEAN, dan langkah kehadapan bagi memperkukuhkan kerjasama antara ASEAN dalam menangani cabaran-cabaran berkenaan. IPPSSHHB telah menyampaikan pembentangan kertas kerja pada sesi yang kedua, mengenai isu-isu dan cabaran-cabaran berkenaan keselamatan bukan tradisional dari perspektif nasional.

 

Ditubuhkan pada 2007, NADI ialah landasan Trek II yang menemukan penganalisa dasar, penyelidik, ahli akademik dan pegawai-pegawai pertahanan berkepakaran dalam isu-isu pertahanan dan sekuriti untuk membincangkan isu-isu berkaitan dengan jalinan kerjasama bidang pertahanan dan sekuriti, bagi memberikan cadangan dalam menyokong ADMM.
