SHHBIDSS PARTICIPATION IN THE 4TH ASEAN DEFENCE INTERACTION PROGRAMME (ADIP)

Siem Reap, Tuesday, 4 October 2022 – The Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia hosted the 4th iteration of the ASEAN Defence Interaction Programme (ADIP) from 3-4 October 2022 in Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia.
Over 15 young civilian and military officers from ASEAN Member States, and the ASEAN Secretariat were in attendance. Representing the Ministry of Defence of Brunei Darussalam and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces were Captain Nurermah Mohd Riduan, and Ms Muizzah Harun, SHHBIDSS Research Officer.


The programme began with Welcoming Remarks by Lieutenant General Lay Chenda, Deputy Director-General of the General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs; Director of ASEAN Affairs Department, Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia; and Chair of the ASEAN Defence Senior Officials Meeting Working Group (ADSOM WG). This was followed by Opening Remarks and an introduction to ADIP, by Major Kim Savuthdarith, Deputy Chief of ASEAN Affairs Department at the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia.

In recognition of the significant and positive contribution of youths in the maintenance and promotion of peace, security and prosperity in the region, the 4th ADIP was centred around the theme 'Youth, Peace and Security' with Session 1 focused on 'Introduction to Youth Peace and Security Agenda', while Session II looked into 'ASEAN Youth and Cybersecurity'. Additionally, Brunei Darussalam was invited to present during the first session on 'Implementation of the Joint Statement on Promoting the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda at the ASEAN Regional Forum'.

ADIP was one of three initiatives championed by Brunei Darussalam as the Chair of the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) in 2013. The inaugural ADIP was held in Brunei Darussalam in March 2014 and was developed with the aims of strengthen regional unity and identity among ASEAN defence establishments through respect for diversity, equality, and mutual understanding.

 
PENYERTAAN IPPSSHHB DALAM PROGRAM INTERAKSI PERTAHANAN ASEAN KALI KE-4

Siem Reap, Selasa, 4 Oktober 2022 – Kementerian Pertahanan Negara Kemboja mengendalikan Program Interaksi Pertahanan ASEAN (ADIP) Kali ke-4 pada 3-4 Oktober 2022 di Siem Reap, Kemboja.

Lebih 15 pegawai-pegawai awam serta tentera dari negara-negara ahli ASEAN berserta Sekretariat ASEAN menyertai program tersebut. Turut mewakili Kementerian Pertahanan dan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei adalah Kapten Nurermah Mohd Riduan, dan Muizzah Harun, Pegawai Penyelidik IPPSSHHB.​


Program tersebut dimulakan dengan ucapan pembukaan oleh Leftenan Jeneral Lay Chenda, Deputy Director-General of the General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs; dan Director of ASEAN Affairs Department, Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia; serta Pengerusi ADSOM WG. Seterusnya, Major Kim Savuthdarith, Deputy Chief of ASEAN Affairs Department at the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia, turut menyampaikan pengenalan mengenai ADIP.

Sebagai pengiktirafan terhadap peranan golongan belia dalam menyumbang kepada penjagaan keselamatan dan kemakmuran serantau, program ADIP ke-4 mengetengahkan tema 'Youth, Peace and Security', dengan sesi pertama mengetengahkan 'Pengenalan Agenda bagi Belia, Keamanan dan Keselamatan', manakala sesi kedua membincangkan 'Belia ASEAN dan Keselamatan Siber'. Negara Brunei Darussalam dijemput untuk membuat pembentangan pada sesi pertama dengan tajuk 'Implementation of the Joint Statement on Promoting the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda at the ASEAN Regional Forum'.​

ADIP merupakan salah satu daripada tiga inisiatif Negara Brunei Darussalam sebagai Pengerusi Mesyuarat Menteri-Menteri Pertahanan ASEAN (ADMM) pada tahun 2013. ADIP diadakan buat julung kalinya pada bulan Mac 2014 dan bertujuan untuk mengukuhkan perpaduan serantau dan identiti di kalangan pertubuhan pertahanan ASEAN melalui rasa hormat terhadap keberagaman, kesamaan dan kesefahaman.
