Tuesday, 11 April 2023 – Four Universiti Brunei Darussalam students presented their final pitch presentations to mark the conclusion of their work placement at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS) at the SHHBIDSS Board Room this morning. The students are Nur Qistina Izzah Afiqah @ Alai Izzah binti Zefrin, Nurun Naqiyah binti Haji Tal'ah, Dayangku Nur Qashrina Eddy Afifah binti Pengiran Mazalan, and Nadhirah Amal Hafizah binti Haji Roslan, who were assigned as Assistant Research Officers from 09 January to 15 April 2023.
The Final Pitch Presentation session is an event organised by the Institute to support the academic and professional development of placement students by enabling them to showcase their projects, engagements, as well as to reflect on their experiences at the Institute. During the session, the students presented on the following topics: The Importance of Military Modernisation in Military Warfare; Examining the Gaps in Cyberbullying Management Amongst Youths in the Context of Malaysia; Role of Malaysia in Southern Thailand's Peace Process: An Analysis of Policies From 2013 to Present Day; and Understanding and Addressing Gender-Based Violence in Conflict Areas: A Case Study of Afghanistan.
In attendance were SHHBIDSS Acting Director, Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Kamis, and supervisors of the students, Dr Abdillah Noh, Associate Professor, History and International Studies Programme, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), UBD dan Dr Maria Carinnes Alejandria, Assistant Professor, Sociology and Anthropology Programme, FASS, UBD. Also present were the SHHBIDSS Acting Assistant Director, Acting Senior Research Officer, as well as SHHBIDSS Research Officers.
PEMBENTANGAN PELAJAR PENEMPATAN UNIVERSITI BRUNEI DARUSSALAM (UBD)
Selasa, 11 April 2023 – Empat mahasisiwi Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) telah menyampaikan pembentangan bagi menandakan berakhirnya program penempatan kerja di Institut Pengajian Pertahanan dan Strategik Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (IPPSSHHB) bertempat di Bilik Lembaga IPPSSHHB. Mahasiswi-mahasisiwi tersebut adalah Nur Qistina Izzah Afiqah @ Alai Izzah binti Zefrin, Nurun Naqiyah binti Haji Tal'ah, Dayangku Nur Qashrina Eddy Afifah binti Pengiran Mazalan, dan Nadhirah Amal Hafizah binti Haji Roslan, dan telah memulakan program penempatan kerja sebagai Pembantu Pegawai Penyelidik bermula 09 Januari sehingga 15 April 2023.
Sesi pembentangan merupakan aktiviti yang dikendalikan oleh Institut bagi menyokong perkembangan akademik dan profesional pelajar melalui pembentangan projek-projek, penglibatan dalam aktiviti serta memberi peluang untuk meneliti semula pengalaman penempatan kerja mereka. Turut hadir adalah Pemangku Penolong Pengarah IPPSSHHB, Pemangku Pegawai Penyelidik Kanan IPPSSHHB, serta Pegawai-Pengawai Penyelidik Institut.
