REPUBLIC OF KOREA, 25-26 April 2024 – The 16th ASEAN Regional Forum Experts and Eminent Persons (16th ARF EEPs) Meeting was co-chaired by His Excellency Suh Jeong-in, the Republic of Korea's ARF EEP and Mrs Hairaini Tajuddin, Brunei Darussalam's ARF EEP at the Westin Josun Seoul.
The ARF EEP is a Track 1.5 gathering in which its main focus is to foster dialogue as well as provide policy recommendations on regional security issues, including on confidence-building measures and preventive diplomacy, in the Asia-Pacific region.
As part of the meeting, Ms. Noorhazwani Ariffin, Acting Assistant Director of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, was invited as a speaker on the “Challenges and Opportunities of Preventive Diplomacy in the Asia-Pacific Region".
Over 50 participants from ARF member states' foreign services, defence establishments, academic researchers and policy specialists attended the two-day meet.
