Thursday, 14 April 2022 – Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to celebrate the holy month of Ramadhan 1443H. This Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was also conducted in conjunction with the Institute's 15th Anniversary, gathering the Officers and Staff along with students under the internship programme at the Institute.

The event commenced with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and followed by Takhtim Al-Qur'an, led by the Institute's Acting Assistant Director, Haji Azlan bin Haji Abdul Ghani. The event proceeded with the presentation of gifts and Eid hampers by Acting Director of the Institute, Mr Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Kamis, to two outgoing staff of the Institute and an intern after completing the attachment.

The event also marked the opportunity for the two outgoing staff to formally bid their farewell, one due to retirement from service, and another, to pursue a new career in a different ministry.

In his welcoming address on the occasion of the 15th Anniversary of SHHBIDSS, he called for all members of the Institute to carry out their duties by instilling trustworthiness and virtuous values in order to achieve excellence. He further emphasised the need to discard negative traits in oneself, such as being dishonest, working flippantly, and disregarding instructions from the superiors.

In addition to commemorating the 15th Anniversary of the Institute's establishment, this annual religious ceremony also hopes to instil a sense of love and encourage the habit of reading Al-Qur'an to all members of the Institute.

Majlis Khatam Al-Quran Bersempena Bulan Ramadhan dan Ulangtahun Penubuhan Institut Pengajian Pertahanan Dan Strategik Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (IPPSSHHB) Ke-15 Tahun

Khamis, 14 April 2022 – Institut Pengajian Pertahanan dan Strategik Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (IPPSSHHB) telah mengadakan Majlis Khatam Al-Quran bersempena bulan Ramadhan 1443 Hijrah. Majlis Khatam Al-Quran ini juga diadakan bersempena Ulang Tahun Institut yang ke-15, menghimpunkan Pegawai dan Kakitangan bersama pelajar di bawah program penempatan kerja (PPK) di Institut.

Acara dimulai dengan surah Al-Fatihah dan diikuti dengan Takhtim Al-Quran yang dipimpin oleh Pemangku Penolong Pengarah Institut, Haji Azlan bin Haji Abdul Ghani, bagi memulakan majlis berkenaan. Acara ini juga diteruskan dengan penyampaian cenderamata dan hamper Hari Raya oleh Pemangku Pengarah Institut, Tuan Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Kamis kepada semua warga Institut yang masih bertugas di Institut ini, bersara, berpindah dan seorang pelajar yang menamatkan program penempatan kerja.

Dalam ucapan alu-aluannya, Pemangku Pengarah menyeru semua warga Institut bersempena dengan Hari Ulang Tahun SHHBIDSS Ke-15 ini untuk menjalankan tugas dengan menanamkan sifat amanah dan nilai-nilai luhur bagi mencapai kemerlangan. Seterusnya beliau menekankan keperluan untuk membuang sifat-sifat negatif dalam diri seperti bersifat tidak jujur, bekerja sambil lewa dan tidak menghiraukan arahan dari pihak atasan.

Disamping menyemarakkan lagi Sambutan Ulangtahun Penubuhan Institut ke-15, majlis tahunan ini diadakan untuk menyemai semangat cintakan Al-Quran bagi Warga Institut itu sendiri.
